When you upgrade to Pro, OuterSignal automatically runs a 7-day backsearch — no action needed on your part. You'll see your last 7 days of orders start enriching immediately.
Everything before those 7 days — your weeks, months, or years of order history — does not get pulled in automatically. Pulling in additional history is a Pro and above feature, and you're in control of how far back you go.
Why choose how far back to go?
The further back you pull, the more customer data OuterSignal has to work with — and the richer your Personas become. Brands that pull 12+ months of history tend to see more defined, accurate Persona clusters, which means better segmentation in Klaviyo, sharper Meta Lookalike Audiences, and more targeted email campaigns.
You decide what makes sense for your business. A 3-month pull gets you up and running quickly. A 12-month or all-time pull gives your Personas the fullest possible picture of who your customers really are.
Backsearch is charged at $0.03 per unique customer in your selected date range.
How to pull in your historical data
Go to Settings → Data Sources
Select your Shopify store and click Edit
Set your import start date — how far back you want to go
Save and authorize the charge

Not on Shopify?
Historical data for WooCommerce, Magento, or other platforms is pulled via CSV upload or API — not through Settings → Data Sources.
